Bill Samuels on Soma is the same artist as Billy Samuels on North Star. He was the Bill Samuels who'd been with the Bill Samuels Trio on Miracle (1949/50) and, prior to that, the Cats 'N Jammer Three on Mercury (1945-49). After the Miracle recordings, he moved to Minneapolis. He also made an LP (Sing'n 'n Swing'n) on Gaity, another Minneapolis label.
